User Testing and Polishing
I started the week with focus in getting user feedback. I spent some time creating a Script that was created close to the design of a user test script I used in a previous class. In addition, I made plans to create a survey using google forms, but I found this whole process a bit hokey the more i read over the script. I didn't want to sound artificial in my delivery. I wanted this to be organic because, real world cases might have more feedback from users than i could come up with in a week and the feedback would be real and from a real source. In our meeting, we had been told to let the user go through and provide feedback as if they were going through the website naturally. This opens up the opportunity for us to have raw and real feedback and gives us an idea of what the user might really need from us. So its like they are providing what is best for them and not us trying to give them an experienced that seems inorganic.
Since my other team members found some testers, I still have yet to find some people to test out our site. I hope they get their tests completed while i find some people from my groups in the meantime. I like having materials that can help us improve and user testing is definitely the way to go about it.
While we are waiting to get results from user tests, there is still work to do. I have been tasked with getting the footer to be up to date with the ui standards we have come up with. At this time, the footer is a bland black bar with information and does nothing out of the ordinary. I hope to add a modernistic flare to its look and its overall functionality. I've dipped here in there and found guides all over the internet, - 15 Tips for Creating a Great Website Footer | Design Shack and Top 20 Best CSS Frameworks for Front-End Developers in 2023 (hackr.io).
A piece of the article reads on keeping the design theme consistent with the over look and feel of the website. I will make note of this and keep it as a focal point for developing.
I would like to have this done as soon as possible but i must remember that i am novice and i have to give myself time to learn , make mistakes and create.
