Satisfying a Feedback Request

Image
This past week was one of the most learned weeks to boot. We were behind on many of our notes we took on getting our product up to instructor standards. We had our meeting and were told to get things together within the next day. We needed to get our visuals together and make sure the site was cohesive. My job was to get the footer to a point where it matched the style of the rest of the site. I also got it to animate once the user scrolls into view of it and i also trimmed it a little. Eventually I was told that the Quick links section needs to be in the style of a vertical list. At this point That is being worked on but i do have a snippet of code i can share and a picture of the footer in its current state.

Long week coming to a close

As our user tests went out last week. We had a meeting with our instructor. Who basically gave us a user test. Most of the things that were said were also said by the testers that used the app. We have some work to do but not much if we clean up the look of the site and work as much and as closely as we can. THis past week, i finally got the material ui import to work without messing up. I rearranged the app and then went back and figured I can add some more flair to the footer. all within due time.

Scheduled a Tester - Material UI - Media Queries

This past week was filled with learning how material UI works. There are many different material ui npm install commands:   npm i  @mui/joy    and   npm install @material-ui/core    are jsut two examples. I kept receiving an error about the package being deprecated. After i finally got the package to install, It worked but it did not provide me all of the ui elements i needed. I was able to get the footer to become a material ui footer ie - text boxes and animations, but it kept breaking after each time i tried to modify any components within its structure. This led me to scrap the whole thing and make a date to come up with and come back to work on it.  Until then, I made some appointments for users to test our current version. This is to happen on the earlier part of next week. It will lend itself to our site by having someone go in and use the site as is and then tell their thoughts about it. We can then make our adjustments and provide a...

User Testing and Polishing

Image
I started the week with focus in getting user feedback. I spent some time creating a Script that was created close to the design of a user test script I used in a previous class. In addition, I made plans to create a survey using google forms, but I found this whole process a bit hokey the more i read over the script.  I didn't want to sound artificial in my delivery. I wanted this to be organic because, real world cases might have more feedback from users than i could come up with in a week and the feedback would be real and from a real source. In our meeting, we had been told to let the user go through and provide feedback as if they were going through the website naturally. This opens up the opportunity for us to have raw and real feedback and gives us an idea of what the user might really need from us. So its like they are providing what is best for them and not us trying to give them an experienced that seems inorganic. Since my other team members found some testers, I st...
