Readying Up for our presentation and swallowing my pride.

Image
This week was the week that we had our presentation rehearsal. Everything went more smoothly than I thought it would have. But I had to come up with some dialogue for my slide.  The slide needed some additional GIF images. With the help of my team, these things got done. Here is the latest presentation video for practice. https://youtu.be/ukkoB1c3gJM Here is a screenshot of the slide

Understanding our Presentation

Our presentation for our product promotion is being created. We are having a meeting with each other so that we can discuss our individual roles and responsibilities that we can talk about within our final video. This week I worked on multiple branches to find the sharing mechanism I made a few weeks ago. At this point we are getting everything together so that we can have a final product for our presentation. PetHub Slides - Google Slides

Long week of Detailing

As our project is approaching the last few weeks of development, I find my schedule a little fuller. As our meeting highlighted for me, I have been researching many different ways of getting the marketing aspect of the Pethub brand completed. Here is a link to my current work using PowToon and hosted on YouTube.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjm5UlFCUiA&t=56s I most wanted to use the infomercial formula in a comedic way. I used some of the ideas highlighted in this guide to create my advertisement. These 3 Methods Will Help You Create a Product Offer - Guaranteed - DIYMarketers Choose a target customer or persona. Be as specific as you can because the target customer sets the context for your offer. Think about “soccer moms” – you immediately get a visual that sets the context for their life from what they drive, how they spend their time, and the challenges they have. Footer and 960.gs

nathansmith/960-Grid-System: The 960 Grid System is an effort to streamline web development workflow. (github.com) 960.gs is a system that helps developers keep their website looking uniform. The grid allows the developer to snap content to help keep the layout of a website in check. I tried to implement the  npm install --save 960-grid-system and npm install 960-grid-system --force packages, It broke my project and I had to reinstall the nodes from npm install. I scrapped the idea about using the 960-grid package because it is deprecated. I am working with my team members to come up with our solution. As of now, the install package npm install 960-grid-system --force has too many errors.

Satisfying a Feedback Request

This past week was one of the most learned weeks to boot. We were behind on many of our notes we took on getting our product up to instructor standards. We had our meeting and were told to get things together within the next day. We needed to get our visuals together and make sure the site was cohesive. My job was to get the footer to a point where it matched the style of the rest of the site. I also got it to animate once the user scrolls into view of it and i also trimmed it a little. Eventually I was told that the Quick links section needs to be in the style of a vertical list. At this point That is being worked on but i do have a snippet of code i can share and a picture of the footer in its current state.

Long week coming to a close

As our user tests went out last week. We had a meeting with our instructor. Who basically gave us a user test. Most of the things that were said were also said by the testers that used the app. We have some work to do but not much if we clean up the look of the site and work as much and as closely as we can. THis past week, i finally got the material ui import to work without messing up. I rearranged the app and then went back and figured I can add some more flair to the footer. all within due time.
